I was pretty surprised to be photographing this little baby girl last week, because on the day I met her, she was 2.5 weeks from her due date, and she was already 8 days old.  She joins a beautiful big sister and an adorable big brother, who were some of the first kids I photographed when I was starting out.  (You might remember her beautiful parents from this blog post http://www.jamiesieverphotography.com/shes-having-a-baby-main-line-maternity-photographer. )  When her mom emailed to say she had just given birth, I was surprised but thrilled to meet this little lady.

She loved being photographed!  She was just the sweetest little thing, completely sleeping through all of the poses that she moved through.  What a dream model she was!  I loved chatting with her mom, hearing all about her big sister’s new big girl room, watching her big brother with his tools and getting a laugh from her dad, too.  Baby K is lucky to be joining this fantastic family!

Enjoy your sneak peek, N and L!  Can’t wait to show you the rest of them!

I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet boy and his mama a few weeks ago.  I couldn’t believe that a baby this young was giving me such great eye contact with the camera!  Maybe he’ll grow up to be a model – he is handsome enough.  I always love solo shots, but the ones of him and his mama are my favorites!

You guys were awesome, A – so great to meet you.  Enjoy!

I drove to meet this family wondering what you do if you have twins; how you survive the first few weeks at home with two brand new babies. Well, their parents showed me: you quickly figure out that you and your husband are a team and, if you are like these boys’ parents, you operate as a well-oiled machine after a few short days. Wow! They are amazing, Mama and Daddy D. Giving bottles, holding two babies at once, swaddle one, change the other one’s diaper, easy peasy. I couldn’t believe them, and on not that many hours of sleep.

The other thing I worried about was how I would tell them apart. They were kind enough to have babies that were not identical, although equally adorable. Baby N was a sweet little sleepy head, while baby L was the little rascal – I would think he was asleep, but as soon as I’d ever so gently lay him down, up he’d pop to see what was going on. Eventually they both fell asleep at the same time, but I worked for it. (Okay, so did both of their parents, too.)

D Family, you guys are adorable and amazing.  I feel like we are old friends!

Last week, I had the pleasure of hosting the amazing Amber from for a newborn workshop. Amber’s “Little Posers” workshop was all about newborn photography. It was so cool to see Amber in action (and to finally get to meet her, we’ve “known” one another from an online forum for about seven years!) and to get to learn from one of the best at what she does.

Below are some of the images of our first model, a three day old (!) sweetheart who was an amazing subject with a lot of black hair and the most divine lips ever!

And a darling 11 day old boy both solo and with his beautiful mama.

I’ll be bringing some new tips and tricks to your newborn session thanks to the Little Posers workshop!

What is better than having a photo you love of your child? Nothing, right? If you’re anything like me, you have them all over your house, you feel joy when you get a great one, and you’re probably the one who is always snapping away.

But, that’s also a problem, because it means that you are usually the one behind the camera and thus, there are not many photos you love of you with your kid/s.
I remember on my first Mother’s Day, the only thing I wanted was some photos of me and my son. My husband hired someone as my gift and three years later, that photo is still something I walk past and smile about every single day.

With that in mind, I knew that I wanted to offer that same feeling and that same special gift to all of the mothers out there who need a photo or an updated photo of themselves with their child, so I created the Philadelphia Mommy and Me Sessions just in time for Mother’s Day gift giving (and gift requesting!).

There will be two days of sessions, one in Center City on May 22, 2011 and one in Delaware County on June 4, 2011. The sessions are 20 minutes long and will yield 5-10 proofs from which you can choose. They cost $100 and will include 2 5″x7″ prints. If you want to purchase additional prints, there will be two packages from which you can do so. Session times will run from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m and then again from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

You will receive a gift certificate to present on Mother’s Day, too.
