What is better than having a photo you love of your child? Nothing, right? If you’re anything like me, you have them all over your house, you feel joy when you get a great one, and you’re probably the one who is always snapping away.

But, that’s also a problem, because it means that you are usually the one behind the camera and thus, there are not many photos you love of you with your kid/s.
I remember on my first Mother’s Day, the only thing I wanted was some photos of me and my son. My husband hired someone as my gift and three years later, that photo is still something I walk past and smile about every single day.

With that in mind, I knew that I wanted to offer that same feeling and that same special gift to all of the mothers out there who need a photo or an updated photo of themselves with their child, so I created the Philadelphia Mommy and Me Sessions just in time for Mother’s Day gift giving (and gift requesting!).

There will be two days of sessions, one in Center City on May 22, 2011 and one in Delaware County on June 4, 2011. The sessions are 20 minutes long and will yield 5-10 proofs from which you can choose. They cost $100 and will include 2 5″x7″ prints. If you want to purchase additional prints, there will be two packages from which you can do so. Session times will run from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m and then again from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

You will receive a gift certificate to present on Mother’s Day, too.
As always, please feel free to email me at jamie@jamiesieverphotography.com or call me at 484-354-1785 with any questions.

When I heard that this couple had had another baby and that they wanted me to photograph him, I was thrilled!  I photographed his adorable big brother when I was just starting out, we did a session with him and his mama as a surprise gift for mommy.  They were both so sweet and so much fun.  And, they still are.  There is so much love and joy in this family, you cannot help but smile when you watch them interact.  They genuinely enjoy being with each other and it truly shows.  Baby brother L is a lucky boy indeed to be joining this family.  Big Brother N is already loving his new role, helping with the baby and zooming trucks around him happily.

D and K, it was my pleasure to get to spend some time with your family.  I only wish that we’d been able to get baby L happy by himself so I could have documented his sweet baby peachiness. Congratulations to both of you on the birth of your second son!  You are truly a blessed, lucky family.

This sweet little peanut just couldn’t wait to celebrate the holidays and ring in the new year with her parents. So, she decided to make her appearance a few weeks early. Her parents were thrilled to make her acquaintance and set about snuggling her right up! And, how could you not? She is just as sweet as can be. This little lady didn’t get her mom’s beautiful hair color, but it seems like she got her pretty blue eyes. And she did get gorgeous, dark hair that will look stunning with those blue eyes – which might be the same color as her cousin X, a regular on this blog. Mr. X baby’s mama and Ms. Sugar and Spice are brother and sister, and I’m sure that these cousins will be having a blast together in no time at all.

And, true to form, I left something behind (my cell phone) as I do at nearly every session I have, and Mama F was kind enough to chase me down with it. Plus, Daddy F carried in nearly all my gear since I couldn’t fit down their street in my car. (He says they have a special, small trash truck for their street. How cool is that?)

F Family, it was my pleasure to meet you all this morning. I hope you will enjoy your sneak peek and I can’t wait to show you the rest of the photos of your sugar girl.

One of my favorite songs about the love that a parent has for their child is “Love Of My Life” by Carly Simon. She sings, “From the moment I first saw you, the second that you were born, I knew that you were the love of my life, quite simply, the love of my life.” How true this is for a parent; the moment that you see your child, the love that you feel for them is overwhelming and stronger than anything you’ve ever known in your life. I rarely hear this song without tearing up, and I bet that if you have a child or are readying to have one and hear it, you will too.

I know that this little love’s mama and daddy feel the same way about her because we discussed it – how it’s instantaneous and overwhelming and amazing how quickly and powerfully the love for your child grips you. And, truly, how perfect is this little girl? She was beyond darling to spend the day with. She came to me asleep and rarely woke, except when it was absolutely necessary. She loved the heat – it was so cute to watch her whole body relax when she got warm. Honestly, I thought about her photos the whole time I was on vacation and couldn’t wait to get back to write this blog post so that her parents could see some of the photos from that day. T Family, I can’t wait to have all of them ready for you! Enjoy the peek.

PS – The awesome hat shown herein is sadly not mine. Mama T has very good taste in hats, though, doesn’t she?

I had the pleasure of spending Saturday morning with the R Family. I love when you meet someone and you can kind of talk to them like you’ve known them forever. Both Mom and Dad R were that kind of person; easygoing, funny and sweet. It doesn’t hurt that Mama R is a fellow Penn Stater – we’re always cool. Daddy R won my heart immediately with his love not only for his new baby but for their incredible dog Delilah. I sincerely wanted to bring her home. (The shame of it all is that I got not one photo of that gorgeous white and gray girl. I’m still mad at myself for that!) But, I was there for a reason, you know – to photograph their 11 day old little sweet boy. He wasn’t loving all of the interrupting of his sleep I was doing and all of the moving him around, but in the end, he allowed me to make his parents happy by capturing some amazingly adorable moments with their little man.

Mama and Daddy R, it was great to meet you guys! Enjoy the photos and I’ll have more for you soon!
