I met up with the fabulous R Family to do a Mommy and Me mini session.  The idea behind the Mommy and Me sessions is that most moms tend to be the ones with the camera, and as a result usually have a lot of shots of their kids but few of themselves with their kids.  For my first Mother’s Day, custom professional photography was my only request and I figured that a lot of other mamas would be right there with me.

So, J, being a thoughtful husband, gifted this session to Erika for Mother’s Day.  What a sweet and amazing family they are!  I’m pretty sure that E and J worked as hard as I did at this session – J tried to help me hold the kids’ attention with his amazing handstands and other bendy body stuff that I would never be able to do in a million years.  E moved as fast as her kids did, and together, the three of us were able to keep this exploring duo corralled (a slight form of torture for these little explorers!) long enough to get some sweet shots of E doing her thing as a fun, loving, awesome mama.

Mama and Daddy and Brother and Sister, you guys are so much fun and as beautiful on the inside as on the outside.  Thanks for spending the morning with me!

*by the way, readers – there are a few slots left for 6/4′s minis in the burbs – you can email jamie@jamiesieverphotography for details*

This guy loves the camera.  Okay, he doesn’t, but the camera really likes him.  And so do I!  Loving these moody black and whites lately, and who doesn’t love a little boy with a heart tattoo?  If only it said “Mom”…

What is better than having a photo you love of your child? Nothing, right? If you’re anything like me, you have them all over your house, you feel joy when you get a great one, and you’re probably the one who is always snapping away.

But, that’s also a problem, because it means that you are usually the one behind the camera and thus, there are not many photos you love of you with your kid/s.
I remember on my first Mother’s Day, the only thing I wanted was some photos of me and my son. My husband hired someone as my gift and three years later, that photo is still something I walk past and smile about every single day.

With that in mind, I knew that I wanted to offer that same feeling and that same special gift to all of the mothers out there who need a photo or an updated photo of themselves with their child, so I created the Philadelphia Mommy and Me Sessions just in time for Mother’s Day gift giving (and gift requesting!).

There will be two days of sessions, one in Center City on May 22, 2011 and one in Delaware County on June 4, 2011. The sessions are 20 minutes long and will yield 5-10 proofs from which you can choose. They cost $100 and will include 2 5″x7″ prints. If you want to purchase additional prints, there will be two packages from which you can do so. Session times will run from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m and then again from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

You will receive a gift certificate to present on Mother’s Day, too.
As always, please feel free to email me at jamie@jamiesieverphotography.com or call me at 484-354-1785 with any questions.

When I heard that this couple had had another baby and that they wanted me to photograph him, I was thrilled!  I photographed his adorable big brother when I was just starting out, we did a session with him and his mama as a surprise gift for mommy.  They were both so sweet and so much fun.  And, they still are.  There is so much love and joy in this family, you cannot help but smile when you watch them interact.  They genuinely enjoy being with each other and it truly shows.  Baby brother L is a lucky boy indeed to be joining this family.  Big Brother N is already loving his new role, helping with the baby and zooming trucks around him happily.

D and K, it was my pleasure to get to spend some time with your family.  I only wish that we’d been able to get baby L happy by himself so I could have documented his sweet baby peachiness. Congratulations to both of you on the birth of your second son!  You are truly a blessed, lucky family.

Yesterday, I was invited into the H Family’s warm, cozy, happy home. Older Sister and Big Brother welcomed New Baby Rory less than two weeks ago, and I had the honor of being the one to create his first professional portraits. He was so sweet, and so snuggly and darling. Older Sister loved the lion that I use to try to get older kids to look at me, but the real star of the show for her was a tiny hair clip she immediately named Clippy, who elicited many belly laughs from the sweet girl who was my “assistant”. Big Brother enjoyed grilled cheese sandwiches and the movie “Ratatouille”, but did not feel the same way about my camera. We had to adapt our plan, as sometimes (okay, usually) happens when you are a child photographer – the big kids didn’t really want to be photographed, but I got some adorable shots of them anyway.

This darling mama and daddy have got this three kid thing figured out already. I was in awe of their calm and ease. Their love of each other and their family shone through even the most hectic of moments yesterday, and the five of them were snuggling when I left. Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?

Hope you enjoy your peek, H Family!
