I’m not sure which I love more, the location in these photos, the amazing outfits that Mom put together or this family.  I mean, the first time I talked to the mom on the phone, I adored her.  We talked clothes, we laughed, it was like chatting with a friend.  I was excited to meet them and shoot their family of four as they anticipated the arrival of their third baby, a boy, on his way before you know it.  We had to reschedule due to some minor illness and cruddy weather, but on the day of the session, bright and early, the weather was amazing, the location was tranquil, and the kids were troopers.  The ground was wet and Baby Girl (Bear, as she is known) does not like to get her feet wet or grassy.  But, the bribe candies kept her focused, and we were able to keep her happy.  Big Brother was my helper, he kept me entertained and carried my chair for me.  He was so darling!  Dad was happy to keep the kids so that we could get some solo shots of Mom too; what a guy!  What a sweet, sweet family the S Family is.

As for the photos, I do not think I could choose a favorite from this session.  So lovely.  If you are thinking of maternity or family photos, note how excellent it looks when the clothes are coordinated (not matchy matchy, just solidly complimentary).  I love outdoor family photos!

So, without further ado – the photos!

Enjoy, S Family!  Can’t wait to meet your newest addition next week!

This fun, sweet family will soon be just that: a party of four.  I can’t wait to meet their newest addition when he arrives!  But for now, I had a great evening with the M Family just before sunset capturing some of their love and excitement and giggles.  I’ve known this family for a few years now and have always looked up to them (way up, as they are much taller than I am, yuk yuk!).  Seriously though, the mama is so beautiful and the daddy is so funny that of course their son would be cute and funny, right?  And he is.

I had a great time capturing these images for them and documenting the chapter in their lives that is coming to a close with them as a family of three.  I can’t wait to meet their newly complete family in just a few short weeks to document that, too.

How beautiful is she?!

My hands-down favorite from the session.  Maybe my hands down favorite maternity image to date, honestly.

So.  much.  fun. this family, I tell you!

This boy is silly, that’s for sure!

How could you not love these two?  In addition to being incredibly cool and sweet (a rare combination, don’t you think?!), they are also hilarious.  Daddy to be had us all cracking up at his silly antics – In fact, when I asked Mama to be to think of a time that she laughed so hard she couldn’t breathe from him, she couldn’t narrow one down, because it happens all the time.  I can’t say I was surprised.

They are sweet and wonderful and I know that they will make the most amazing parents.  I can’t wait to meet their little one soon.  Since I don’t know whether I’m charged with confidential knowledge or not, I’ll just say that you are going to LOVE their baby to be’s name.  I know I do.

And, as is almost always the case, I was in love with every photo from this session.  Here are just a few of my favorites.  They’re a gorgeous couple, right?

I photographed this beautiful woman’s two older children together when I was first starting out, so I was really excited when she called me to ask for a maternity and newborn session for her soon to be third baby, a little girl. I do maternity as mini session add ons to the newborn session. You receive 5 to 10 proofs from which to choose; enough to remember how you looked, how you felt, and capture some sweet moments between the mama to be and her husband. Then I’ll be back in a few short weeks to photograph the new star of the show! I’m so excited to meet the newest member of this family!

This one is my favorite from the session, I think.

You would not believe how perfect this mama to be’s skin was. I could not believe that she made it through this much of her pregnancy with not a single stretch mark, but she did. Her belly is perfect. She attributes it to faithful lotion application, but I think it’s gotta be good genes. Either way, that perfect belly was attached to the lovely Jess, who is also attached to the equally lovely Kevin. (Although I couldn’t remember his name was Kevin at first. Embarrassing. I stink at names.) Even after I showed up at her mom’s house and the session was subsequently moved there, Jess and Kevin were sweet and funny, and you could see how much fun they have together. This little baby on the way is one lucky girl to have such loving parents! Thanks, guys, for being so gracious about me calling Kevin “you” that time and for, uh, not coming to your house. I can’t wait to meet your little one and hope she is on the way soon!
I had to use some restraint and not post all of the pictures from their session – I had so many favorites!
