So asks my son when we spend time with this family. We are lucky to have found friends who feel like family in the D Family. My son loves both of these girls, he actually sleeps with two stuffed animals named after them. And, this mama, whom I met in the grocery store, has turned into someone who I feel blessed and lucky to call my friend. Moms, I’m sure you have one (or at least I hope you do!) of those friends who you just marvel at, the kind who always have a kind word, who never seem to lose their temper and let things roll off of their backs, who give the best advice. That’s her. And, she has a funny husband who loves being the daddy to these lovely girls. So, on a sunny day, we spent some time at the Tyler Arboretum getting some pretty photos for their walls. Hope you love them, D Family!

“Being happy doesn’t mean that life is perfect; it means that you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections.”  Well, I would say that this family has seen the imperfections and has decided to just look past them.  Because they are filled with love and joy that is easy to see.  The beautiful mama in this family has been a friend of mine for many years.  I will not sadden either of us by writing down the actual number of years.  She has always been a happy and incredibly fun person.  She married another person like herself, with kind eyes and a good heart, and in turn, produced two children in the same vein.  It does my heart good to see the wonderful mother, loving partner and happy woman that she is today.  Easy laughter is heard often in this family; they love silly and embrace spontaneity.  If you get the chance to be in their company, jump at it.  You will leave a better person for spending time with these people.  I know I did.

Happy to have a cupcake.  Not happy to be distracted from it.

Happy to be silly.  Always!

Happy to be together.  <3

I am lucky.  You see, yesterday, the sun was shining brightly, the air was crisp and cool.  I went to my morning session to photograph Ms. K, on the occasion of her being 9 months old.  When I arrived, I found a gorgeous baby, with darling, lovely, beautiful parents, who were also funny and kind.   They also live in a beautiful home that was oh-so-unpacked despite their quite recent move. Oh, and then there was Dewey.  Yes, they have the sweetest dog alive (don’t tell my dog I said that).  See, people?  Lucky.

Apparently, she wasn’t impressed with me, as she is normally quite smiley.

I did have sparkly things, and she really likes sparkly things, so this was good.

She eventually decided she wanted to show that pretty smile!

And, see?  Dewey.  (No worse for the wear after an ACL tear.)

Thanks, N family.  You guys are awesome!

Today, I met Spiderman.  He taught me about the mechanics of web shooting, explained about surfaces to which a web will not adhere, and turned me into a frog.  And then his sidekick (who is also his very cute blue eyed baby brother) taught me that if “Spiderman” is too hard to say, you just call him “Bubba”.  This duo had some of the prettiest blue eyes I’ve ever seen (courtesy of their mama, I believe).  They were troopers for such a hot July morning.  They gave each toy we presented them with at least a cursory try for a photo op.  And, just as I promised Spidey, we did take some of him at the end in his costume.  He was even allowed to jump off of the ottoman!

Thanks, D family.  You’re too cute and it was a lot of fun!
