Happy Birthday, Happy Baby! | Philadelphia Baby Photographer

This baby. OMG. She just smiled the whole time. Happiest baby on the block, indeed! What a sweetheart.

As we usually do with a cake smash session, we typically start out with portraits. I absolutely adore monochromatic looks, so I like to coordinate the outfit and the backdrop, and the accessories too! I think this is a stylistic win, but also I adore her cute face and happy expression. Her smiley eyes are everything! AND THOSE TOES. <3 Please, never have your babies wear socks or shoes in photos because toes > shoes.

I’m not kidding when I say that this baby was so happy it was insane! She was just smiling away for her whole session and it did make for some pretty darn cute photos. Plus, look how sparkly her eyes are. This was so much fun for her! (and for me too.)

Then we moved on to the cake portion of the session. She was a perfect little lady with her cake - she loved it but didn’t LOVE LOVE it so no face down in the cake photos. Just a happy little smile with her cake covered hands! Also I love the little crown her mama brought with her. Fits the aesthetic perfectly which is always a win for me and is SO CUTE on her!

We finished up the cake smash with a splash (not shown for privacy reasons!). I love adding a splash on at the end for two reasons: first, even if the baby wasn’t the happiest during the rest of the session, most babies LOVE tub time, so we get some smiling photos then, and second, because it helps to clean off all of that sticky, oily icing that leaves them so messy! Win win.
