Baby #3 | Philly Newborn Photographer

Meet Baby #3. He is the second boy for this amazing family. I have photographed all three of their kids. I fell in love with them early - I love when a daddy has requests and is also willing to do whatever is needed as a terrific assistant! That is this dad. <3 Mom is darling, beautiful, chill and lovely. Love them!

I don’t know if this is weird, maybe other photographers can weigh in. But, I have sort of a thing where when I think about a session whether it’s from a few months ago or a few years ago, I have one image that stands out from the session. I guess it’s my favorite image, or the most memorable, or the one that seems to be the most meaningful. Maybe it’s the one that feels like the one with the most emotional connection, I think. Or the most beautiful. I am not sure, it’s hard to tell and of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and is very subjective and - my favorite image might not be your favorite, you know? Wow, that’s a lot of words. Okay. Moving on! That all is to say that I have a DEFINITE image in my head from both of this baby’s older siblings’ newborn sessions - and his is no exception. I’m posting my favorite first, but will share a lot of really beautiful images from his session here.

I absolutely love froggy pose. It’s typically my favorite of the “table” poses (if you didn’t know, I do most of my naked poses on two card tables. SO much better than when I used to do a beanbag for so many reasons.) Look at the perfection that is these cheeks. And that hairline. Lips. Everything about this is 100.

Doesn’t this image feel like it foretells of mischief to come? When I was a middle school teacher, the kids with mischief in their eyes were always my favorites. Kindred spirits perhaps? Anyway, I love the look of mischief here.

I feel like I’m doing a thing with this blog post where I explain why I like an image, so I’m gonna keep going. I love this mostly for the hand stack, the cheeks, and the negative space in the photo. Do you like photos w negative space? I feel like that draws your attention to the baby.

Two more adorable favorites.

Oops. I definitely spoke too soon because HERE is the image. The favorite image, the iconic one from this baby’s session. I love everything about this - the pride on the parents faces, the adorable perfection of the new baby, and most of all, BABY HOLDING HIS DAD’S FINGER. <3

Do you have an iconic image from your session? Or one that sticks out in your mind when you see that I’ve posted a photo? Tell me in the comments below. Or drop me a a line here.
