Baseball Baby | Delco Newborn Photographer

As we discussed in the last blog post, iconic photos from each session, they’re a thing. This was a little different - I feel like what was iconic about this little girl’s big sister’s session was the use of a catcher’s mitt, the vibrant green bow, and the Dayton Dragons, the minor league baseball team where her parents met and, as such, was important in both their and her story. See here - there is even a smile AND I realized that, unintentionally, the pose is in the shape of a heart.

I love when I hear back from clients whose babies I’ve photographed that they are pregnant again and want to work with me again! So, I was happy to get this email and I knew we would be doing something baseball related, which is fun for me as the mom of a baseball player. (Sidenote, MORE baseball themed requests please. And MLB player dad clients, too.)

This seafoam colored flokati rug has been getting a lot of love lately, especially from moms of girls. I love it paired with a floral pillow, as seen here.

Here’s our first Dayton Dragons themed setup - a fungo bat with their logo and a Dayton Dragons green bow. This is the same bow in the photo I linked above. L O V E having a thread that runs through both babies’ sessions! I also love that it’s easily changeable. We did this setup with and without the bat to give options for the parents for their wall art display piece choices.

Last time, Mom brought a catcher’s glove. This time, she brought this home plate. I like the challenge of trying to figure out how to incorporate a special piece into a session. I love this series so much - but I really like this angle.

I love everything about babies posed in this greenhouse with spring greenery. She looks perfect in there and I love how the gold headband compliments the greens so well.

Who wouldn’t love a baby smile?! I love them even more when the baby is on stars with a matching starry band (that I made, btw!). So sweet, so angelic.

I love this pinky pink drop and her pretty pinky skin. But, the adorable scowly expression reminds me of that McKayla Maroney meme.

Tonal harmony is life. This mauve set made its rounds this summer because I could not envision a world where all of these items were not used together. I stand by these choices!

What’s your “must incorporate” item for your session? How would you bring your story into your baby’s session? Or is that maybe not something you see yourself doing? Let me know in the comments!
